Past Property Development
Sheffield is the principal commercial centre in South Yorkshire. Sheffield has successfully diversified its economy with a current structure of employment now similar to the national profile. Relatively strong growth in banking, insurance, public services, education and communications are expected over the medium-term. The city already boasts CGNU, HSBC, Abbey National and the Halifax as major employers in the financial sector. Sheffield is a good value and attractive office location, close to the Peak District, the M1 and has a good public transport system, two excellent Universities and very importantly, good connectivity.
This mixed use commercial and residential development will be situated next to the River Don at the Junction of Blonk Street and Wicker Street. The finished 10 storey scheme will house 132 apartments and 3,275 ft of retail space on the ground floor and include car parking facilities for 160 cars. The development was carried out by Artisan in conjunction with architects Aedas and frame contractor MPB using ‘insitu concrete’ flat slab structure design and incorporates ‘green’ roofs and a striking terraced tower.
